Abstract

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is an approach to designing, building, and running distributed systems that aim to improve their reliability, scalability, and performance. Monitoring is a key component of SRE, as it allows for the early detection of issues, the identification of potential bottlenecks and for maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of systems and applications.

This blog post provides an overview of the current state of the art in monitoring distributed systems in the context of SRE, including the various approaches and techniques that have been developed to address this challenge.
